Intercept Moves Ahead in High-Speed Design Market with Xtent Technology Rules Editor

Xtent Offers Fully Integrated Technology Rules and Constraint Management in Pantheon and Mozaix

Atlanta, GA – June 23, 2009 – Intercept Technology, Inc., a leader in PCB/Hybrid/RF electrical engineering applications, today announces the availability of the Xtent Technology Rules Editor in version 4.0 Mozaix and version 6.0 Pantheon. In a major advance for both high-speed and standard PCB/Hybrid/RF designs, Xtent provides rules management and high-speed constraint options in an interactive, multi-functional data flow passed in full to and from the Mozaix schematic and Pantheon layout.

The user interface for Xtent allows for quick creation, manipulation, and assignment of design rules and constraints in an integrated application.  Xtent’s spreadsheet format provides a robust and flexible environment, which includes visual previews for layer stackup and padstack construction and color-coded highlights to indicate rule or constraint violations and changes in layer rules. In a real-time, bidirectional exchange of information between Xtent and Pantheon, actual lengths of From-To and Signal Path nets are displayed, with automatic select and tune of one or more of these objects enabled by a single mouse click. Likewise, this powerful information exchange is available in Mozaix, where complete rule definitions, assignments, and high-speed constraints can be defined and annotated to and from the Pantheon layout by design engineers.

Xtent’s High Speed-specific design flow includes the ability to define Signal Path lengths, net lengths or pin-to-pin (From-To) length constraints using formulas and functions, as well as the ability to auto-define Signal Path objects through user-specified pattern criteria. Once a Signal Path is defined, its length values can be formulated through a Signal Path Class, or directly to one or more Signal Paths at a time. The added structure of a signal path class can simplify constraints for large groups of nets to a single rule assignment, which can be matched to a specific “sample” net or signal path class value. This fluidity of value specifications offered in Xtent makes constraint management easier than ever before.

High-Speed-specific, RF-specific and Hybrid-specific design flows are available in the standard Pantheon and Mozaix applications, which offer a level of flexibility to specialized design environments at or above any other software package available in the market. With a large offering of translators and interfaces, any High-Speed, RF or Hybrid design environment can utilize any number of these options together with core Pantheon and Mozaix functionality to boost a design flow to new levels of sophistication and faster turn-around development time.

Intercept’s RF, Hybrid and High-Speed design products are available for purchase with Pantheon, Intercept’s PCB/Hybrid/RF layout design application, and Mozaix, Intercept’s schematic design application. All Intercept products are available to customers on Sun Solaris, Linux, and Windows platforms.
